His Way is Perfect

“As for God his way is perfect; the word of the Lord is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in Him.”

 2 Samuel 22:31 

God’s way often leads us outside of our comfort zones and into the unknown. When Jesus was on Earth, he told the disciples to "Follow me, and I will make you become fishers of men.” He didn't tell them where it would take them, or how they would get there. He simply told them to "follow."

Amy Carmichael was called by God to be a missionary to the country of India. Amy had a severe illness, called neuralgia, that made her so sick that she had to stay in bed for days at a time. She gave up her own comfort and left her family in Ireland to go where God was leading her. Despite her health problems, she surrendered to God’s plan for her life. Through her obedience, God opened the door for a new ministry that rescued Indian temple children and  even began orphanage. 

As Christians, our desire should be to follow God’s plan for our lives.  When we seek after Christ with our whole heart, He will direct us in the path that we should go. Proverbs 3:5-6 says “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”

 

Jeremiah 29:11 

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” 

God always knows what is best.
