In His Presence

"The
Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.
He will fulfil the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them."
Psalm 145:18-19

This past evening, I read these two verses in my devotions. They blessed my heart so much. No matter how strange the circumstance, God is with us. All we have to do is simply call upon him.

Aren't you so thankful for the presence of God? The presence of God is powerful. It blesses the saint, and convicts the sinner. Several years ago, a young man from our church got back to the Lord. He stated a few months later, "It wasn't the standards of the holiness people that drew me back. It was the presence of God."

1# The Presence of God Brings Peace

Have you ever had an experience where you just desired someone's presence? You desired to be around someone because they brought you such peace. They didn't even have to say anything, their presence was sufficient. "Peace does not come from the absence of trouble, but from the presence of God." He is the God of peace.

2# The Presence of God Brings Promises

Not only does he promise His presence, He goes on to say, "He will fulfil the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them." He promises to fulfill our desires, and He hears us every time we cry. I don't know about you, but I am extremely emotional, and to think that the God who created the universe, He cares about every single tear that drops from my eyes. That is a promise.

3# The Presence of God Brings Perspective

"The presence of God will not always fix your problems, but it will clarify your perspective."
Sometimes we truly don't need God to fix our problems. We desire His help to redirect our focus. Our world is filled with so many distractions. It is so easy to dwell on the little things that don't matter in the big picture. Keep your eyes on the prize.

Whether you be needing peace, a promise, some perspective, or maybe all of the above, rest in His presence. "Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore."
